November sailing
Oh yeah baby, just got back from Annapolis... spent a few days out on the Chesapeake on my uncles' Tartan 4300.  Andy and I took a few pictures but not a lot.. if I get a chance, I'll bust out a new flash gallery for it.  Had one really nice day at 69 degrees.. then a couple of chilly days.  We got some good sailing in though, so being a little chilled was worth it.  The heat in the boat works very well!
Brightcove.com makes me sad!

I received an email last night saying that brightcove has chosen to discontinue their free video hosting service..  which is kinda lame cause now I'm going to have to either find another one for my site or redesign the page to not host any videos. :(  The free service was setup so that if x amount of plays took place, they would insert a commercial or something in there to subliment the cost of bandwidth, which obviously on my humble blog, never happened... but still, it's not like I'm really utilizing a lot of their server space and anybody who is, if they really get a lot of hits, would be generating commercial income for them via their ads...

meh.. jerks!  I guess it's not a huge deal cause I don't have access to the program I need to really squeeze down the videos to be streamlined for online use anymore..

In other news, its voting day, go vote, you hoser!

damn...

I typed up a really long post about my old employer and that I'm finally going to mail out the letter I wrote after I was let go... It's going to the president of the company.. he needs a wakeup call.  I know several people emailed, called, and wrote on my behalf.. but I feel that I might be able to do some good by sincerely trying to open his eyes to what is happening to the organization right in front of his eye.. or behind his back.. whatever.

Anyways, it was a huge post and apparently my blog entry page timed out and sure as shit.. the ubernet ate my post.  It sure did feel good to type it up though.. it was a pretty good rant.  To sum it up.. eff that bitch who fired me.. I'm so better off now, you did me a favor.  I'm so much happier in my life.. things changed in my life and I'm not sure they would have had I been stuck in the rut that place put me in.  I love my friends from the place, I hope they can stop the deathspiral that the company is in.. but I do hope the place realizes that they aren't getting 300g's worth from the lying consultant that must have naked pics of the execs or something.... cause she has failed them so many times over and is still getting paid to sit in the Hilton and waste their resources... monetary and of the human nature.  Take a couple more perc's and book a flight to anywhere but here.

My favorite quote of the eaten post was:  "it's like polishing brass on the titanic, the whole ships going down!"

LOL... laters.

in the groove

I think I'm officially, "in the groove", with my new job.  My former co-workers were all worried that I'd have problems getting to work on-time, well worry not, I think all it took was a little motivation on my part and it's a routine.  I'm enjoying things and getting the hang of it.  I think I've already contributed a fair amount and continue to pick up more each day.

What else?  Well... my neice, Teagan, turned 4 over the weekend, congratulations to her, maybe I'll bother mikey to send me some of the pictures from the party.

Hit 6000 miles on Andy's Harley-Davidson over the weekend.. w00t for lots of fun on that this summer, although, I've officially been spoiled with all the features of the Ultra-Classic.. I'm going to need me one of them!

peace out!

Get out your steel-toed flippies!

Alrighty, I'm happy to report that I'm two days into my new job and it's going great!  I've been pretty tired as of late, my sleeping schedule has been so wacked the last month that it was a bit of a shock to my system to get back into the hang of things.  Also, my first day had me touring 5 facilities, 2 of which were large paper mills and another was a finishing center, also quite large.  I'm supporting the infrastructure, workstations, servers, wireless, phones, etc. at all the valley locations.  Thankfully, it's a team setup and I have somebody who actually knows where everything is to guide me around.  I was unaware of how advanced forklifts were getting... I had to fix the wifi setup on one yesterday.

So yeah.. got a few sets of safety glasses and some ear plugs, now I just need to get my steel toes and I'll be all set.

inked!
As you can see in my newest gallery, I got a tattoo today!  It's nature is displayed in the last picture, where it was lifted from a MS logo from back in the late 90's.  I had been wanting a tat for a long time but just couldn't settle on something that I wanted, it hit me yesterday that I loved the braid logo and I thought it would make a great armband.. so here it is and I'm very pleased with how it turned out!

So um yeah.. new job, tat.. what else?  Hey hey, you can't just open the book of my life in the middle and start reading, sorry.. you gotta dig!

Here is the idea behind my tattoo and the results:

Moving right along
Had a second interview yesterday, followed up with an offer which I accepted today!  Looks like my tenative start date is 10/1, so I have a little bit more free time before it's "back to the grind".

So yeah... saying that I'm very excited, relieved, etc, is a huge understatement right now!  I don't have to worry about moving cause my new job is still in the Valley and I stepped up a pay grade, so thank you to my former employer for pushing me to find a better place to work!
Big changes...

So, I'm looking for a new job, hopefully, I can find one in the valley because I'm not really looking forward to a move.  There is so much more to this story, but I'm sure most of my readers already know what happened, so I won't bore you with all that nonsense.

What else?  hmm..  I fixed Trish's blog, her isp decided to do a server move that made some changes to configuration, causing asp.net applications to stop working.  It took some digging around to figure it out, but I got it.. also fixed Joe's page too, which reminds me, I need to add his page to my list of links. Check it out at: www.classicwaco.com

Survived...
Another airshow under my belt..  more on that later.
busiest weekend evar!
Friday night @ West End, then depart to Green Bay for a Berken concert @ Hinterland Brewery.. oh yeah, don't forget the new Frambois beer, yummy!  Then to Ben and Amanda's for some Rockband action.. get home @4:30 am... get up at 9:30 to play dork games (newlarp)... beat on people with foam swords all day, some crazy cool stuff happened.  Then clean up and go to Buck's wedding reception.  Couple hours later, went to Water City Grille with Ben, Amanda, and Ben's parents.. Tim and Laurie.  Had a couple drinks with them, then headed to Barley's to celebrate with Karl for his bday.  Jer, Matt, and the gang was all down there having a good time.  I used Play Now to cut in on the rap crap on the jukebox!  Left to go to Trish and Lisa's for a campfire... hung there for a bit, then headed home.. slept IN till 10am.. played some Final Fantasy, watched some TV... then drove to Green Bay again, this time for a pig roast with Ben, Amanda, and a ton of Hinterland folk @ Gary White's house.  Pig roast was a blast!  Had to leave to go to Appleton for my hockey game, but went back to Gary's after the game to hang out by the fire.  Gary and some others, Jason Berken, sleepy (or is it snoozy?) rob were jamming in the garage with an older guy named Gus on the drums.  Heard some Matthew Sweet (Divine intervention, twice), and a few other songs that I didn't know... Rob's singing was um.. not good.  Jason took the mic from him a couple times.  Gary was rocking like the rockstar that he is on guitar!  Then chilled by the fire for awhile with the whole gang.  Talked cars, planes and all sorts of things with Gary and Jason.  Left at about 11:30pm... had an hour plus drive home.  Then I fell asleep watching Top Gear on BBC.... heh.  Funfilled weekend for sure!

Oh yeah... I found some sweet roads on the way to DePere too!  Not sure I would have driven all the way back to Gary's after hockey if the temptation of hilly, curvy roads wasn't layed out for me.  I'm a sucker for those roads.  I was driving down the road and actually noticed that I cracked a huge smile right when I saw the 15 MPH yellow sign with curvey's on it.  I love having my corrado back!
Oshkosh underwater... staying afloat
Our slogan used to be, Oshkosh on the water... now I think it's been changed to Oshkosh Underwater as we have had some major flooding as of late.  I've been super lazy with posts too.. sorry, yo.  I'm pretty busy with airshow preparations and random other things.

Just got my corrado back on the road after nearly 3 months of waiting for parts.  That must have been rowed across the Atlantic to take so long to get parts from Germany.

What else... sailboat still isn't in the water... like I said, I've been busy but maybe next week.  Driving in the Miss Wisconsin parade tonight, hope that goes well.. the weather looks decent.
Congratulation to Andrea and Steve
My sister, Andrea, and her husband, Steve tied the knot this weekend in Milwaukee.  It was a beautiful ceremony and thankfully the weather held off long enough for us to take some pictures by Lake Michigan before the reception.  Drea called from Jamaica to let me know they arrived safely... congratulations and have a good time!

Anchor's away
Well.. I'm back, sailing was amazing!  The new boat is so easy to sail, it's very pleasant and offers so many features that you wouldn't expect on a sailboat... moving from the 37' to the 43' makes a world of difference in regards to cabin space.  Everything is just bigger and more spacious inside.  Bigger couches, bigger table, bigger cabins, 2 bathrooms with showers!  The new boat also features a 100% jib that is autotacking, meaning... it's pretty much hands free once you have it out and setup.  You can come about and it moves and is all setup on it's own, no scrambling, no fuss..  Don't even have to set down your beer!

I had a great time, we sailed to St. Michael's, walked around, felt like a tourist trap, so we ate on the boat, spent the night and pulled anchor and sailed back to Annapolis the next day.. spent the night in Annapolis tormenting Dana's possible love interest. ;)  He was brave enough to come to dinner with Pete and I... The next day we decided to sail North from Annapolis and drop anchor in a cove that offered protection from the wind, etc... it was packed with people at 3pm but by 6pm the place was a ghost town... everybody must have needed to get back to work on Tuesday.  SUCKERS!  We had the cove to ourselves that night.  Enjoyed a movie on the boat, oh yeah...the boat has a nice lcd and dvd player too.  Sailed back to Annapolis the next day and Dana headed home, Pete and I wandered town, did some shopping and ate dinner at a nice pub.

All in all a very relaxing, yet fun filled vacation!  I can't thank Pete enough for inviting me along.  And lets not mention the sand bar incident. ;)

Set Sail, yo!
Heading to D.C. tomorrow to go sailing.

If you are bored, hit up google image search for "failboat" or "set sail for fail"...  good times!

Also, hit up youtube for "blobbing"... it's a pretty sweet lake toy for camps and stuff where you launch people in the air and they land in the lake.. pretty sweet!

Oh yeah.. I'm 31... well, I will be tomorrow, meh.  :p
Wow
Crazy weekend.. spent far too much money on boozin', friday night... dinner was great, but I think we got a little carried away with the volcano drinks.  Although, work has been hectic lately and I really needed to unwind, so I guess its sort of okay.

Saturday, other than being hung over, was a pretty good day, Jeremy and I met up with a couple of his hometown friends and we played the 2 disc golf courses in Sheboygan.  I got a hole in one!  My first ace!!!  With a brand new driver too.  Hole 8 @ Vollrath, I own you!  Par 4 my butt! :)

Two hockey games yesterday... the summer league started, so on came the pain of getting lit up and barraged with a billion shots a game.  I had some amazing saves but still lost.

Sailing trip is coming up fast, I can't wait!
here kitty kitty!
So.... I got a kitty!  The story goes like this:  My little brother brought him home and gave him to my father around Christmas.  My parents already having 2 dogs and a cat were not really thrilled with having a second cat in the house.  I stopped by to fix my mom's computer and while there, Boon, was climbing all over me and really took a liking to me.  My mother noted that he really hadn't warmed up to anybody and that it was cool to see him finally do that.  She then tempted me by saying I could take him home.  My first thought was... no thanks, I'm single with no pets and I love the fact that I can come and go as I please without a thought but a day later, I spoke with a few friends with cats and they all encouraged me to take him home.  After sleeping on it, I decided that I wouldn't mind a new friend and since he basically chose me, I figured it would work out.

So here he is:

So far, things have been good... he drives me crazy when I'm on the computer cause he wants to play all the time and sometimes he wakes me up by attacking my feet or climbing on my head.. but overall, things have been good.  He eats a lot and whines when I close him out of rooms in the house.  Right away he thinks he owns the place???  Whatevah!
New stuff
So... I should have spent my entire tax return on credit card balances, but I couldn't resist buying myself a few new things.  I bought 2 pairs of puma speedcat sneakers, 1 pair of white leather with dark blue stripes and the other is navy suede with baby blue stripes.  I also bought an 80gb Microsoft Zune mp3 player, to replace my 30gb ipod video that was stolen in December from my truck.  I also decided early this year that I wanted a timepiece, so I searched around and found a nice swiss watch for under a couple hundred bucks.  It's silver with a green face.. I'm sure I'll post up a pic at some point.  I told some people that I'm going to be a grown up with this new fangled chrono leash!
Hockey pics!
Not only do I have pictures from the tournament in the flash gallery, but I also have a FULL gallery for you to enjoy.

Hockey, hockey, and some pics.
Played in a USA Hockey Adult Classic tournament this weekend, sponsored by Labatt Blue.  My team won our division with a 4-0 record over the weekend in Lansing, Michigan.  We had a blast!  The last game was a nail biter, 2-2 after regulation.  Ended up having to go to a shootout to win 3-2!  I had one shutout over the weekend and 5 goals against in the tournament.  The team awarded me the MVP trophy as well!

We also attended the Michigan v. Michigan State game that was on Friday night in Lansing, what a good time that was.  Hanging downtown with the college crowd after the game was also a good time.  Even had some local friends come to our games and take pictures!  Always fun to hang out with friends, play hockey, and drink some beer!

The hockey photo gallery will be up soon... a flash one and full gallery, but in the meantime, enjoy the flash gallery from Montana.  I finally got around to picking a select group of pics to go on the rotating gallery thingy at the top of the page.
Videos from Yellowstone
Posted up a couple of videos from our snowmobile tour of Yellowstone park.. pretty fun to see the buffalo on the road... or scary at time. :)

Also, here is a link to my full photo gallery.. I've been too busy to make a flash gallery of the best images, so you get to sort through them all if you are curious.  Montana Gallery
